How does renting work?

Browse our collection, choose your rental period, delivery option and dates, then place your order.

We’ll take care of all other details so all you need to do is ensure you return it on your rental return date.

How much does it cost to rent a dress?

Our rental prices range from under $50 to around $100, depending on the dress.

Rental prices are based on the dress’s original RRP.

How long can I rent a dress for?

We have several different rental periods available.

Overnight: Pick up/receive your dress the day of your event and return it the next day. Perfect for weekday events.

4 Days: Receive your dress before your weekend event and return it after. Perfect for Friday–Sunday events.

8 Days: Ideal if you’re travelling or need the dress for longer.

What do all the sizes mean in the description?

Our dress descriptions have the size on tag noted and the recommended sizing.

Size on tag is the size labelled by the original brand. We often add the brand's own size guide within our description.
Recommended size is Every Occasion’s suggested fit, based on the dress’s stretch, cut, and customer feedback.

If unsure about sizing, try ons are always best. If you can't try on, message us and we will do our best to send measurements through!

I'm not based in Dunedin, can I still hire from you?

Of course! We offer NZ wide shipping - often overnight.

Some rural areas occur an extra cost for shipping but this can be added at checkout.

How do I return the dress?

For local pickups - you return the dress from the same location you picked it up and in the bag you received it in. All local pickup orders must be returned by 7pm on your rental end date.

For postal orders - you return it in the prepaid postal bag you were given. This must be passed over the NZ Post counter by 4pm on your rental end date.

Try Ons

Can I try on a dress before renting?

Yes of course! We offer both take home try ons (for locals) and postal try ons.

For postal try ons - fill out our form and we will get back to you.

How long is a take home try on appointment?

The appointment is 3 hours. Within this time, you pick up the dress, try it on in your own space and then return it.

Damages

I've damaged the dress, what do I do?

Let us know as soon as possible! We’ll let you know what to do next. If there’s still a few days before your return date, we may ask you to send it back early to give us time to sort the damage before the next rental - which could also help keep your costs down.

What does the Damage Waiver include and exclude?

Our Damage Waiver helps cover the cost of minor accidental damage that can happen during your rental, such as small stains, marks, or minor repairs.

It does not cover major damage, permanent stains, loss of the item, theft, intentional damage, or damage caused by misuse or negligence. Cleaning or repair costs may still apply if the damage falls outside the waiver.
